Giant salvinia (Salvinia molesta) is another floating aquatic plant which severely impacts water bodies at sites around the world. Native to southeastern Brazil, it is shown here completely covering a pond in Texas. Infestations are now known from other US sites - Hawai'i, California, Arizona, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and North and South Carolina.
