Here a dense patch of glossy buckthorn (Rhamnus frangula) seedlings emerge in a fen where the adult shrubs were removed to restore herbaceous fen habitat in southeastern Michigan. Fortunately, these seedlings can be controlled, preventing re-invasion and allowing native plants to re-establish as desired.
