The MAIT application was developed in two parts:
Judy Fulton, MAIT Project Coordinator and Native & Invasive Species Consultant at EcoPlant Consulting, is the driving force behind the project and did much of the detail work while managing Part 1, with assistance from Project Co-Coordinator Jil Swearingen, Invasive Species Consultant at In the Weeds
Judy also chairs the Maryland Invasive Species Council (MISC) Committee on Invasive Species Lists, whose experts in all invasive taxa provided crucial input (i.e. Michael Ellis, Sylvan Kaufman, PhD, Jay Kilian, Mark Lewandowski, Jonathan McKnight, Ramesh Pokharel, PhD, Jil Swearingen, Aaron Shurtleff, PhD, and John Peter Thompson). In addition, information came from other MISC members (including design meeting attendees Don Callihan, Marc Imlay, Alisha Parzanese, Carla Porter, Josh Rudder, and Cathy Stragar), faculty at the University of Maryland Extension's Home & Garden Information Center (i.e. Dave Clement, PhD, Mary Kay Malinowski, and Sara Ann Tangren, PhD), Melanie Schori, PhD, the botanist responsible for species on the USDA-ARS Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN), and many other invasive species specialists.
Chuck Bargeron, Co-Director of the University of Georgia Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health, managed Part 2 and, together with his staff, implemented the MAIT webpages and modified the invasive.org database to accommodate the MAIT application.
