1. Register for the upcoming EIN Workshop #6!

REGISTRATION CLOSES AUGUST 18th, 2006!! If you want to attend this next
Eastern Invasives Network workshop on October 3-5th, 2006 in Saratoga
Springs, New York, be sure to register soon! If you are a speaker, serve on
the planning committee, etc., you must still register so that we can account
for your food and lodging accommodations!
 
The workshop announcement, registration form, travel information, the
homework assignment, and tentative agendum are all available for download at
http://tncinvasives.ucdavis.edu/networks.html

2. Need free housing at EIN Workshop #6?

Troy Weldy, who works for TNC in Albany, has offered to house 1-2 people
near the workshop if you prefer to stay with TNC staff and/or if you need to
keep your travel costs down. The first 2 people to directly contact Troy

3. Examples of inventory sheets, forms & protocols?

Amy Cimarolli (TNC-WV) has mentioned that she would like some more info on
Inventory & Monitoring Tools & Techniques for invasives. What are some
people using, and what is the most efficient effective and cheap way to keep
track of these invaders? If you are coming to EIN #6, please bring some
examples of your inventory sheets, forms, and protocols.

4. EIN #6 Homework Reminder!

If you are attending EIN #6, consider this message as your first reminder to
complete your homework assignment (which can be downloaded at
http://tncinvasives.ucdavis.edu/networks.html). The homework will work to guide
you through the 5S/CAP planning process, and can also help you assess the
status of your invasives work at both the site/project and OU/state scale.

5. TNC Stewardship-get-together on Oct.2 (Monday) prior to EIN workshop?

Several TNC stewards from across the eastern states will be getting together
the day prior to the EIN workshop (Oct 2nd) to discuss stewardship-related
topics and issues (e.g., plantings and restoration lessons, share best
practices, barriers to ATVs, promotion of long-term stewardship activities,
etc.). If you are interested in attending, please let me know asap.
