1. Meeting plans a-brewing

As you read this, a number of your peers in the Network and Global Invasive
Species Initiative are organizing the next EIN meeting (#6), to occur in New
York (Saratoga Springs) this next 3-5 October. We do not yet have detailed
information yet, remember to save that date!

2. Me and Zippy the Pinhead

I hope you are familiar with the comic strip Zippy. The hero tends to enjoy
conversing with large, inanimate roadside objects. Having come across said
large, inanimate roadside object a few months back, I decided it needed to
be photographed and sent to artist Bill Griffith. And what do you know?
See the strip from Tuesday (and the photos from which it was born). Note
the "tip" to me from said artist in one of the panels. Fame and fortune
surely await...
