Description:
This medium-sized grasshopper is one of the most colorful. Overall body color is bluish to black with bold orange and yellowishwhite markings. The wings are abbreviated and do not extend over the abdomen. It generally is found in western Kansas in grassland and rarely attacks forage crops.
