The ventral margin of the head is marked by a distinct notch just anterior to the eyes. Used in Antkey to separate Strumigenys rogeri from Strumigenys godeffroyi, Strumigenys lanuginosa, Strumigenys lewisi and Strumigenys silvestrii.
