Registration for third workshop ending this week! From: Barry Rice (bamrice(at)ucdavis.edu) Registration for the third workshop of the Eastern Invasives Management Network is closing this week, i.e Friday February 7. If you are planning to show up---whether as a regular attendee, as a guest speaker, as a partner, or just to eat the doughnuts, you must register. I registered just a few minutes ago---it's easy! To register for the meeting go to: http://tnc-ecomanagement.org/Weeds/Registration/. Questions/problems? Registration--Chris Wilson, christa_wilson(at)tnc.org, 520-622-3861 x3466 Logistics--Jen Schimmenti, jschimmenti(at)tnc.org, 703-841-7190 Workshop Content--John Randall, jarandall(at)ucdavis.edu, 530-754-8890 --------------------------------------- 2. Workshop agendum on the way! From: Barry Rice (bamrice(at)ucdavis.edu) A draft agendum for Eastern Invasives Workshop #3 is being sent directly to you as a separate MS WORD attachment. It is still in draft form, but it should help you with your travel plans. We STRONGLY encourage you to include adequate buffer time in your travel plans to allow you to attend the entire meeting (so don't cut out early on the third day). If the agendum arrives corrupted, you can also download it from: http://tncinvasives.ucdavis.edu/listserv02.html --------------------------------------- 3. Information About an Effective Collaboration Approach From: Chris Wilson (christa_wilson(at)tnc.org) The last Aridlands Grazing Network workshop included a half-day skill-building session on Collaborative Learning, an adaptive decision-making approach that provides a framework for managing environmental conflicts through learning-based collaboration. An overview of this approach is now available on the Grazing Network Web site: http://tnc-ecomanagement.org/Aridlands/collaboration/ We've also included case studies highlighting how several Grazing Network sites have used elements of the Collaborative Learning approach to address local issues requiring collaboration. We are currently documenting key "lessons learned" for each case study and will send out a follow-up announcement when this information is available. |
