Contents 1. The 2nd Network Workshop approaches! --------------------------------------- 1. The 2nd Network Workshop approaches! From: John Randall (jarandall(at)ucdavis.edu) The second Eastern Invasive Species Network workshop is coming soon! We will meet September 24-26 in western Massachusetts near the Berkshire Taconic Landscape site. This message contains: 1. preliminary information about where the workshop will be held and registration 2. the workshop homework assignment 3. the DRAFT agenda. We will continue to refine the agenda and encourage you to contact us with comments and suggestions. If a subject you want covered or an expert you want to hear from is missing let us know! We will have some space for participants from sites that did not attend the first workshop so feel free to pass this on to others who you think might want to and would benefit from joining us. We will keep you updated with information about the site, updates to the agenda and lists of participants as we learn the details. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact John (jarandall(at)ucdavis.edu, 530 754 8890) or Barry (bamrice(at)ucdavis.edu, 530 754 8891). 1. We will likely hold the meeting at the Quality Inn Berskhires but are still checking on details and have not yet signed a contract with them. We are, however, holding 20 rooms per night for approximately 30 people there. If we need more, that should not be a problem. The hotel has 120 guest rooms, and there is plenty of meeting space. See http://www.qualityinn-berkshires.net/index.html for information about the hotel. Don't worry, we are also holding space at two other sites, just in case! Registration for the workshop will open approximately July 29 and close on August 16. If you are going to be on vacation during this entire period, contact Jen Schimmenti to reserve space at the hotel. Registration will be conducted at http://tnc-ecomanagement.org/Weeds/. 2. The homework assignment is attached. Please complete it and return it to John Randall (jarandall(at)ucdavis.edu) and Barry Rice (bamrice(at)ucdavis.edu) by September 9th. This will give us enough time to compile the homeworks in time to send out electronic copies to you all at least a week before the workshop and to make hard copies for notebooks which will be given to everyone at the workshop. Contact Barry if you have problems opening the attachment. If the attachment has been stripped from the email, you can download it from: http://tncinvasives.ucdavis.edu/listserv02.html 3. A DRAFT agenda is attached. It is subject to changes and we encourage you to submit comments and suggestions for changes. Contact Barry if you have problems opening the attachment. If the attachment has been stripped from the email. |
