Adult female mites are brown to dark brown, shaped like a crab. Adult males are yellowish with lightly tanned legs and spherical body shape. The male chelicerae are modified for transferring sperm. Body length: 1.06 mm., width: 1.50 mm.; collected on specimens of Apis cerana.
