Descriptor: Bulb / Corm
Description: Curing sweet onions in the field.  After clipping off fine roots and tops, onions are placed into burlap sacks where they remain for a couple of days.  This period of curing dries out the bulbs in the hot, dry conditions of Imperial Valley after which they are ready for final packing. June 1996
