herbicides (general)

Host: flue-cured tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum (flue-cured type) L.)
Descriptor: Damage
Description: Injury from phenoxy herbicides, such as 2,4-D, causes symptoms that depend on herbicide rate and age of tobacco. Young leaves are puckered and stiff, with very prominent midribs. The tips and margins of the leaves are often serrated. Higher dosages cause strappy leaves with parallel veins and twisted stems. On older plants, and the midrib also bends downward.
