Descriptor: Symptoms
Description: Soil-borne fungi are the main cause of damping-off. Symptoms first appear on the stem of seedlings as a brown to black rot. The decay extends up the stem and causes the seedlings to collapse. Roots of affected plants may remain healthy. Seedlings die in patches.
