Asian longhorned beetle
Anoplophora
glabripennis
(Motschulsky, 1853)
Descriptor: Control
Description: Infestation in Chicago: before, during, and after cleanup. The only means of control available is to identify which trees are infested, cut them down, and chip them into tiny pieces. Such an approach can turn a tranquil neighborhood with tree-lined streets into a barren landscape.
