Descriptor: Monitoring
Description: Cold storage facilities keep the ambient temperature near freezing, but it is important to monitor the temperature inside the storage container. For long term storage of more than 3 months, some nurseries utilize coolers that keep the storage temperature at slightly below freezing. Research has shown that frozen storage can maintain high seedling quality for over 6 months, and also retards the development of storage molds.
