I have my A.S. in Agriculture and a B.S. in Agriscience and Environmental Systems and a Master's in Plant Protection and Pest Management. I have worked with the University of Georgia in the Entomology Department for over 4 years. I have worked with the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health for about three years and also got hands on experience in the field collecting data on insects for 3 months during one summer. During that summer, I worked with a cotton entomologist where I got experience with insects that are associated with cotton and also soybeans. Most of the work I did that summer was related to the kudzu bug. I also took a summer off to work with a private agriculture consulting business in south Georgia scouting cotton, peanuts, soybeans, watermelon and corn all over south Georgia. I have also spent a summer working as an intern with Bayer CropScience. There I was working in the field on research trials. I would help keep the maintenance up around the farm. I also would plant and spray the trials along with any maintenance the trial may need. I clipped eggplant fruit off the plants, strung tomatoes, counted spider mites and helped fix the drip irrigation if it messed up.I did my applied research under 3 county agents in south Georgia. Currently I am the Agriculture and Natural Resource agent in Lowndes County.
