Adults have four very narrow, featherlike wings. Adults and nymphs suck sap from the leaves producing gray to silver feeding marks primarily along the veins of the lower leaves. The leaves also become peppered with minute black spots. The underside of midribs may be damaged. Heavy infestations cause the foliage to turn yellow, as seen here.
